The fat increases your bad cholesterol levels and at the some lowers your good cholesterol putting you at the risk of contracting heart disease. In addition, the hydrogenated oils have a long life span and so many restaurants use them to deep fry foods since they don't require constant changing like other oils. Snacks such as microwave popcorn also have this trans fat. Even though popcorn are always considered to be healthy, they can at times contain the dangerous substance. They are made with lots of salt and oils that have solidified. And since many people are warming up to the microwave popcorn, heart diseases are significantly increasing. The toppings that come with the packaged popcorn can also contain the harmful substance.

So as to avoid contracting heart illnesses, you can consider the old approach of making cakes; mixing the right ingredients from scratch by yourself. Moreover, keep in mind that you have to use healthy vegetable oils and in place of frosting, you can opt for powdered sugar.

Lastly, remember constantly to check the labels of packaged foods that describe the concentration of ingredients used. Look at the percentages of cholesterol used and if you find that it is high, avoid it. Doing this will protect your heart from diseases and give you a healthy lifestyle.
