An Easy Diet Food Plan For Successful Weight Loss

If you think that a diet food plan has to be bland and boring, you'll be happy to know that that's just not true. It is possible to eat right without feeling like you are missing out on the good stuff and without dining on raw veggies and water. Deprivation diet's seldom work for long, and a well balanced approach to dieting will lead to a more successful and long term outcome. Read on to learn more about how to plan a diet that will help you loose weight successfully.

Maintaining a diet doesn't have to be difficult. When you starve yourself, it's hard to function properly in your daily routine. Planning a diet menu that fits your particular needs and desires is not only healthy, but can be the key to successful weight loss. Of course, you can't stuff yourself with sweet desserts or fried foods and expect to reach the goal weight that you've set for yourself. But, a diet food plan can include all types of everyday foods. The secret is to moderate your intake.

To succeed with any weight-loss plan depends on your dedication level. You're encouraged to set reasonable goals that can be reached incrementally, because outlandish expectations just lead to frustration and ultimate failure.

Specialists in the medical field suggest taking your time to eat your food. You can do this by chewing more thoroughly and longer than you ordinarily would and by simply slowing down at meal time. This allows your body time to realize that you're full and send the appropriate signals to your brain. Usually, this dieting method has people finishing their meals with lots of food leftover. This extra food is calories that you are not consuming, yet you still leave the table full and satisfied. If you are someone who can't stand to leave food on your plate, adjust for this by serving yourself half size portions.

Another way to trick yourself in to eating less is to make sure that you are getting enough water. Water can help you feel full and curb you appetite naturally. Eight glasses a day of water is recommended for most people. Having a full glass of water before you sit down to a meal will fill your stomach and make you less likely to overeat.

Many folks with weight problems don't plan their menus in advance. Perhaps they swing through a fast-food drive-through and buy food when they need it. These eating patterns lead to poor judgment habits and eventually packing on the pounds. When you plan and shop for your meals week by week, you're more likely to make healthier selections and lose the pounds; it's a fantastic dieting method and if you are a savvy shopper, you can save money on your food bill as well.

Whatever you do, don't be tempted to skip meals - especially breakfast! We've all heard over and over about breakfast being the most important meal, and it's true. You might be surprised to learn that eating a large meal in the morning kicks your metabolism into overdrive for the whole day. In fact, making breakfast the largest meal of the day is an easy way to enjoy your food and mind your diet plan at the same time.

Of course, every dieter's situation is different and some people loose weight more easily than others. Understand that weight loss takes time. With the right amount of patience and dedication to stick to these subtle lifestyle changes, you will eventually shed the extra weight and poor eating habits and out will emerge a slimmer, healthier you!

Weight Loss - Become a Successful Loser!

Some people eat to live while others simply live to eat. Eating can be real fun but there are few lucky ones who can simply get away with it. Whatever we eat is utilized by the body as required and the extra amount is stored in deposits for later use. This is a natural process but the problem starts when our expanding energy deposits turn into fat layers that encircle our body and engulf our personality. Eating more than required or burning fewer calories than required might be the real problem. But is losing weight really a big deal? Some people who are either skinny or are definitely well-figured think that all it needs to shed those extra pounds is to eat less and that's it. But that's not as easy as it seems. Burning the body fuel (read as FATS) can be a huge problem. But the real problem starts when obese people stop eating almost anything and everything and go on a starvation plan.

A survey showed that six out of ten people who make New Year resolutions include weight loss plan in their list. The rest four are either underweight or are quite satisfied with their body looks or they just simply lie about it! You must have gone through the comic strip in which a fat lady steps over a weighing machine and the machine shouts "one at a time please!" Though this is taken just as a joke, still many people find it a cruel reality and the scales are their worst enemy. I am definitely not going to give a lecture on obesity causing a lot of serious diseases like high blood pressure, heart attack etc etc., nor am I going to convince you to eat healthy and look after your body. The actual target of this article is the group of people who actually do know where they stand and really want help to get out of their state.

As silly as it may sound, the body we have is the one in which we have to live all our life; why not make it a nice thing to live in? Weight gain not only brings in a lot of physical diseases as mentioned above but also mental ones too. No one likes to be called fat. I remember that in my school days we had a couple of fat girls in our class and rest of the students called them names like baby-elephant, Jumbo, potato, humpty-dumpty or simply fat! It sounded so harsh to me that I thought how the actual listener did have to cope with it. Ever gone through a phase when your dress that you bought 3 years ago suddenly became so tight that you feel every movement of your each and every body organ! No silly, the cloth has not shrunk, you have expanded! Or have you been in a situation when you went to a party thinking that you look like Catherine Zeta Jones and instead of appraisal you heard the torturing sentence, "Have you gained weight or what?"

So all those people out there who really want to start with a weight loss plan (or else they would have to include this resolution again in the next year list!), here is a treat for you. No need to surf the net or ask people to know where to start from. All you need is motivation, determination, devotion and belief in yourself (along with this article, of course!), and see the results coming in a month! Many people would really love to get rid of some weight to have a close-to-perfect figure. But the question is that are we really ready for that? Being ready does not mean simply starve to death or exercise till your body drops on the floor; it means making your mind to stick to the goal. Remember, you didn't gain all that weight in a couple of days or weeks, then how on earth can you loose it in such a short time.

1. Make your mind:

Our mind controls our body. Convince yourself that you can do it. Start with small goals. Don't expect a miracle to happen on the 3rd day. Just make a way for yourself to reach your goal. Weight loss is a gradual process and it takes some time. Don't try to shed 20 pounds in a week. Your goals must be achievable, like shedding three pounds per month. Just take the example of a mountain. If you want to climb up, you can't simply jump up, you have to make your way slowly to the top. Similarly if you want to achieve your weight loss goal, you will do this slowly..... Remember slow and steady wins the race! Your ideal is the turtle here!

2. Start with little changes:

Even little things matter a lot. Avoid cold drinks and use water instead. You won't die if you don't have a pack of chips. If you take one teaspoon of sugar in your tea, reduce it a little. A nicer way is to reduce the quantity of tea to half a mug, so that you have to put just half the amount of sugar in it. Don't just eat because there is a chocolate cake in the fridge or because you are afraid your little sister will eat more cookies than you. Use stairs instead of elevators. If mom wants you to buy bread from a near market, don't go to your dad to ask for the car keys; simply walk.

3. Workouts are always recommended:

Though one can always loose weight without vigorously burning one's calories through workouts, yet, it is always recommended to have some sort of activity going on in the weight loss plan. Start with a little exercise. Just five minutes a day; or how about half an hour walk everyday. You can always watch television while exercising; this takes your mind off the clock and you end up exercising for more time than you allocated at the start. If the walk is brisk, it's even better but always have slow paced walks after meals. Jogging, hiking and trekking burns calories really fast and effectively. If you are looking for an indoor activity, skipping is the best one. Weight training and cardio are normally recommended. A more practical approach is to share household work like dusting or ironing or washing or gardening etc.

4. Eat five times a day:

This may seem strange to many a people but those who have taken some professional help may find it very true. Instead of three large meals everyday, eat five to six meals a day but the proportion should be small. Instead of eating a plate of full rice in the afternoon, eat half a plate and then have something after 3-4 hours. This will eventually reduce the size of your stomach from a size of football to that of a tennis ball. But never starve.

5. Stop eating for wrong reasons:

We all know what these wrong reasons are, don't we? Most of us eat due to boredom or simply for fun. Many of us eat while feeling depressed. Simply don't eat in such conditions. Just know what condition your body is in at the moment.

6. Avoid danger foods:

I don't need to write much under this topic. The most ironic part is that everyone knows what such foods are but still we simply ignore the fact. Ice-cream, chocolate bars, chips, donuts, all greasy foods, soft drinks, and the list goes on and on.

7. Learn to say NO

It is not necessary that you take a bite every time your friend offers you a sandwich. Or you don't have to order French-fries when you go to the café with your friends. Don't think that since your friend is paying for the Pepsi you should have one. Learn to say no. It will help you in the long run.

8. Think twice before eating:

While eating something simply ask yourself two questions; what are you eating and why are you eating? If it is your eating time and you are eating the right food, it's okay. However if you are just eating because you feel like eating, think again. In the start of your diet program, you will feel a lot of resistance from your body. It will protest in the form of hunger pangs, stomach grumbling, mind feeling low and sad. But remember, you have to resist all processions and temptations. It will be worth it.

9. Reduce Carbs and Fat intake:

Carbohydrate (generally referred to as carbs) is an important part of our meal. Bread, rice, pasta, potatoes and cereals that are high in carbs must be reduced if not avoided. Atkins (a well known diet program that has thousands of followers around the world) ask for a total ban on carbohydrates to loose weight. Whether this should be done or not is under argument for many a years, some are in favor while others are against this fact. Still you can minimize your carbohydrate intake and make sure you have a lot of veggies. Also reduce fats (oil, ghee, butter, cheese, etc) because this is what you want to burn, remember!

10. Drink a lot of water:

Many people who are in a process to loose weight complain of having a dull skin due to lack of fats that cause it to shine. The solution to their problem is rather very simple. Drink lots and lots of water. Pure water has no calories, so what are you waiting for?

11. Enjoy your eating time:

Many people who are on a diet feel as if they are having a torture with so much less and selective food to eat. Don't torture yourself, enjoy what you eat. While eating, give full concentration to your food. Don't hold sports page or TV remote in your hand while eating. You can phone your friend, read the newspaper or watch TV later. Reserve this time to eating only and enjoy it to the fullest.

12. Read labels carefully:

If something is labeled as "low fat", it does not mean that you can eat large quantities of it without gaining weight. Read food labels carefully. Some low fat items are very high in calories.

13. Give yourself a second chance:

Sometimes under friends' pressure or even our own mind's pressure we tend to eat something that we are not supposed to. Later don't repent over it. Give yourself a second chance. What is eaten is eaten and it can not (and MUST NOT) be vomited out! Do not go blaming yourself over it. Instead think that it was nice to have the pizza or ice-cream for a change and now I am going to stick to my original diet.

14. Be patient:

At least take one month to notice the difference. Don't just start living on your weighing machine, i.e., don't weigh everyday as you may sometimes get upset by the result and you may even lose hope. Our body mass is not just fat; it's a combination of fat along with water, muscle, organ tissue and most importantly bones. The weighing machine shows the combined weight regardless of the actual fat percentage. Sometimes if we weigh right after having our meal or a glass or two of water, we may notice the rise in the scale. But this is just temporary. Many people don't understand this fact and they just give up their program. So simply give yourself as well as the machine some break and don't step on it for 30 days if you are a beginner and for 10 days if you are in the mid of the process.

15. Reduce your restaurants visits:

Try enjoying the food cooked at home because it has relatively less fat. How many people go to restaurants and order sauteed vegetables? Furthermore, if you do go to a restaurant, you don't have to eat all what is in the plate. Many of us think that since we have paid for it or it is a rarely given treat by a friend, we should engulf everything that has been ordered. How about making a doggy-bag and eat it later (remember the small proportion point!). You can even give the doggy-bad to your little brother or sister and he/she will be happy on your considerate nature. Furthermore, go for diet drinks (if you really want to take one) and sugar free food. Salads may sound nice for a diet program but those with cream and mayonnaise won't be a good idea at all.

16. Spice up your life:

Since during the healthy diet plan your life starts rotating around the meal timings, spice up your life by spicing up your food. You don't have to eat boiled tasteless veggies. You can add a lot of spices and make your food tasty. Remember that most of the spices that we commonly use at home have either almost none or very low calorie level. Take advantage from it and add flavor to your food. Remember you are not in a prison, so don't just feel that the tasteless food is your fate. Make your own meal and you will enjoy the cooking time as well as the eating time, and will know exactly what you are eating.

17. Don't forget to reward yourself:

After a month of weight watch, you need some celebration too and you rightly deserve it. You can have a low fat chocolate bar or a couple of cookies or any other yummy thing you really dreamt all this month. Don't over eat. Take your time to celebrate your achievement. This will help as a great motivational tool and will help you get on with your plan the next month.

18. Consider other attributes:

Don't rely too much on your machine. Although it may give you a fair enough idea of your actual condition, yet always note other attributes like judge your progress by the way your clothes fit. Furthermore, you can have tape measurements every month to see how far you have reduced your fat factor because it is actually the inches not pounds that really matter the most.

19. Keep it off:

This is the hardest and most important part. From our early school days we have been hearing this phrase that it is relatively easy to get the top position but very difficult to maintain it. Similar is the case here. Once you start burning those calories and eating a proper diet, you can eventually reach your desired goal but to maintain it is the key point here. Losing weight and then keeping it off are two vital steps of a perfect weight loss program. If you have lost some weight, don't be over excited in such a way that you start eating again. In other words, don't reward yourself too much that it balances out by bringing back all the weight that you actually lost. Consider your achievement as a motivational factor to loose more or at least maintain this level.

20. Come on start up!!

How many points do you need to motivate yourself, hmm? Simply put the magazine down and get started. Don't be a couch potato and get moving....! If you do exactly what has been just explained, you will reach your goal, that's for sure.

One very important point that I must mention here is that not all exercises or diets are suitable for everyone. Sarah may have lost 5 kg in 2 months by exercising for an hour everyday but Amy may find this plan not working for her. Different people have different body structure and different nutritional requirements as well. The general weight charts that tell the age of a person and the ideal weight he/she should be having is not necessarily precise. This is due to the fact that both men and women of different ages have different activity levels that range from sedentary to extremely active. One point that often works for others is that if the goal is to lose weight, 1 pound per week, subtract 500 calories per day from this result. If the goal is to gain weight, 1 pound per week, add 500 calories per day to this result. By subtracting calories per day I mean either eating 500 calories less in your daily diet or burning those 500 calories by some activity.

We have many a times seen charts that show daily life activities or exercises and the amount of calories they burn. But one important thing they normally miss out is that the amount of calories burned is less if your weight is lower and higher if your weight is higher than the standard average weighed person. For example, jogging continuously for an hour may burn around 600 to 700 calories in a normal person but the burning rate may increase for a relatively obese person or vise versa.

Now some last words which are really very important at this point to some up everything. Never go on a starvation program. Always eat when you feel hungry. Never eat for comfort. Enjoy what you eat and feel happy and satisfied after eating it. Never go on fad diets that people generally talk about. Loose your weight in your own natural way. Never eliminate any food group from your diet, though reduce some. Don't weigh yourself too often, give your body some time (remember the turtle!). Always be optimistic about your goal but don't over do it by building high expectations. Everything takes some time to happen. Remember small things do matter and a small cookie does matter too! Make up your mind and stick to it and never give up. Loss in weight results in gain in confidence and by sticking to the above points you can definitely be a successful loser!

Behavior Modification for Successful Weight Loss

Behavior modification, not dieting, is the answer to the food addict's weight problem.

That means replacing old, bad eating habits with new, healthful, slimming habits. We can't do that with dieting alone.

It's not that diets don't work. Diets do work. We food addicts have proven it over and over. We go on a diet. We lose weight. We go off the diet. We gain the weight back.

So what do we do? We take our cue from successful alcohol, drug, and cigarette addiction programs.

We make a lifetime commitment and work it one day at a time. We practice behavior modification. We change our habits; we change our lives.

It takes 21 days to break an old habit and replace it with a new one. Those 21 days can be tough. But if you work the plan, you will succeed with your weight loss goals.

Step #1. Be honest with yourself. Are you a compulsive eater? Do you eat when you are not hungry?

Step #2: Start a journal. This charts your weight and your feelings. You make entries each morning and each evening. You record your weight, your feelings, your triumphs and failures.

Step #3. Learn the difference between true hunger and food cravings. Food cravings are those compulsions to eat between meals. They have nothing to do with true hunger. Get in touch with your feelings and emotions. Why do you have the urge to eat? Are you really hungry?

Step #4: Create a new mealtime ritual that will replace old bad habits. Sit down to a real meal and don't wolf it down. Take at least 20 minutes for each meal.

Step #5. Learn to redirect your compulsive eating triggers. Find ways to occupy your time in ways that don't include food. Take a walk. Get out of the house. Get away from the food.

Step #6: Adopt strategies for dining out. You should not have to turn down social invitations in order to lose weight.

Step #7: Avoid diet sabotage. Learn to handle those who, consciously or unconsciously, try to derail your weight loss efforts.

Negative Calorie Foods Might Be Your Key to Successful Weight Loss

Foods that have fewer calories than the body uses to digest them, are often referred to as Negative Calorie Foods. Meaning, you have to expend more energy digesting the food than the food actually has within itself.

These foods are therefore not necessarily Zero Calorie Foods, they do have calories, but those calories plus more are used up in the digestion of these foods.

There are various lists you can find on the web listing some negative calorie foods, you need to be careful though as they may not always be very accurate. Sweet fruits like cantaloupe, apricots, oranges and pineapples, are often listed as negative calorie foods. Although these fruits may be very healthy and good for you they do have sugar which makes them less than perfect negative calorie foods. It is not particularly so that you will burn up all the sugar from these sweet foods simply by eating, chewing and digesting them.

The foods listed here are foods that you can and should eat on a daily basis. Some of these foods have almost zero calories, along with other health benefits besides.

The body has to work hard to break down the fibrous matrix that many low calorie, negative calorie foods have. This fibrous structure usually contains a fair amount of water which is what makes these foods so low in calories.

If we eat food to gain energy and not to lose it, why would we want to eat foods that are mostly negative calories in the first place.

In truth the purpose of eating food is not only to give us energy. We get Important and necessary vitamins, minerals, enzymes and proteins from foods that the body uses to function and repair itself.

Sea Vegetables, are near zero calorie foods, They are high in fiber and tend to swell up In the presence of water which makes them very filling. Sea Vegetables are also extremely rich in nutrients and minerals, and have very few calories.

Seaweeds can be very tasty if properly prepared. Three seaweeds that are easy to prepare in tasty ways are Nori, Irish Moss and Kelp.

Nori, is a good source of vitamin A, folate and niacin, three very important vitamins and minerals and is most often eaten in sushi rolls.

Seaweeds have alkaloids a powerful antioxidant that stabilizes the ph of the body, and helps the body to lose excess weight associated with an acidic condition.

Sea Vegetables like kelp and Nori, are particularly high in Iodine which is necessary for the healthy functioning of the thyroid gland. Iodine also protects the thyroid gland from radiation poisoning.

Herbs and Spices are also mostly negative calorie foods, bec. They have very few calories and very often have high nutritional benefits.

Spices, such as oregano, and hot pepper, are heating and stimulate the metabolism. Cinnamon stabilizes blood sugar and is great for diabetics.

Foods such as onion and garlic are also low calorie and extremely beneficial in fighting toxins, bacteria and keeping the ph and the blood sugar balanced.

Of all vegetables Romaine Lettuce is kIng of negative calories. At 1.5 calories per leaf you can practically eat hundreds of leaves all day, and you will have not consumed that many calories.

Successful Weight Loss After Pregnancy

How fast you lose weight will depend on a number of factors, including the amount of weight you gained during your pregnancy.

Most women will lose anywhere from 10-14 pounds within the first 2 weeks of delivery. This weight may be attributed primarily to the loss of excess fluid in the body, the baby's weight, the placenta and amniotic fluid. Some women might lose a little bit less, and others might lose a little bit more.

As the uterus shrinks back down to its normal size and your hormone levels continue to fall, you will lose weight. Most women gain at least 7 pounds of fat during pregnancy. This fat is meant to help women store energy while breastfeeding. How fast this weight comes off will depend on a number of factors including: genetics, your overall health, diet and exercise.

You should expect that it will take a little bit of time to lose the weight you gained during pregnancy. It did after all take you nine months to put that weight on! Many women have successfully lost weight however, in just a few short months after a delivery.

Some women will hang on to the last few pounds they have to lose until they stop breastfeeding. Your body may want to cling to a few extra pounds to ensure you have enough energy to provide adequate milk for the baby. Every woman's experience is unique with respect to this.

The good news is that with a solid nutritional program and with moderate exercise, you can expect to lose the weight you gained during pregnancy within a reasonable time frame.

Most women will be back to their pre pregnancy weight within nine months of delivering IF they follow a regular exercise program and eat healthily after delivery. That said some women will lose their pregnancy weight in as little as six to twelve weeks!

Successful Weight Loss Tips

For most people, losing weight seemed like more of image conscious than healthy living for them. Anorexia (loss of appetite and inability to eat) is the most common problem people ended up with by skipping meals or eating too little, which are obviously unhealthy and not worthwhile.

In a recent news, teens as young as the age of 8 are already suffering from anorexia due to wrong influence. It's partly due to their ignorance or innocence, whom think weight loss can be achieved as long as you eat lesser.

Well, I am not here to report news or rub salt onto their wounds, but to increase awareness of why some diets are unsuccessful (and may even cost your health) in the long run because they fail to address the multi-faceted nature of what successful, permanent weight loss entails. Below are some tips which you may consider to lose weight and stay healthy at the same time:

1. Exercise is essential for weight loss

Well, this is nothing new, but exercise is still the most important catalyst of whether you will succeed at long term weight loss and weight loss maintenance, that's why I put it the first point. When exercises are concerned, adopt interval training, instead of cardio training. Interval training refers to the form of exercise that involves repetition of high intensity movements followed by periods of low to moderate activity. It can be applied to many different types of workouts, whether is it outdoor or indoor.

Interval training increases your cardiovascular fitness and gives you an after-burn effect which boost your metabolism for several hours after you complete the workout, so you can burn calories all day long. The best thing is, you only need to schedule 17-20 minutes for this training.

2. Focus on being healthy, not being thin

Yes, weight loss is still the ultimate goal. For your information, a lot of people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motivation changes from being thin to being healthy. Nevermind if you did not lose a single pound in the first few weeks, select foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body's weight. It may be due to following the wrong diet plan. Check out the link to calorie shift diet below, where you'll get to enjoy the foods you like and don't need to starve, selective eating or cut calories to lose weight. It sounds too good to be true...

3. Eat slowly can lead to weight loss

You may notice that most thin people take a slower time to finish their food. Yes, eating slowly is one of the methods that can help lose pounds. The brain takes around 20 minutes before it signals the feeling of fullness. Fast eaters usually take the time below that. Hence, before you start to feel full, the amount of calories you take in within this time is quite significant.

4. Have enough sleep

Sleep loss equal weight gain". This is the conclusion that was made by researchers. People who are sleep-derived tend to be overweight. This is due to stimulation of hunger hormone and decrease the level of hormone which makes you full. Even if you endure the hunger, the hormones will use muscles as substitution to replenish themselves. This will lead to muscle loss. Hence, you need at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night for your body to run smoothly. Having enough sleep helps to achieve your weight loss target by preventing those fats from coming back.

Understanding the correct weight loss methods will help you to win half of the battle. But, knowledge without application is useless. Apply what you have learned into your weight loss endeavor and remember that it takes motivation and efforts to lose weight fast. To your slimming success!

Struggling with weight loss is not as hard as everyone makes it seem. In fact, you can easily loose an average of 3-4lbs a week. Don't be fooled by those catchy taglines that read "lose 15lbs in one week". It's unhealthy, and you're not going to burn fat losing that much that fast. You will actually cause more damage to your body and metabolism. In the first week of any diet, you will see an above average loss in weight. This is mostly water loss as your body adjusts to the changes.

Just to be clear, the term 'diet' is not going to be used in this report. Why? Because this is not a diet, it's a lifestyle. Don't get scared, these are very easy and fundamental changes that you can make to be successful.

There are three vital components to weight loss that everyone needs to know. Using these together will maximize the fat your burn, and improve your overall fitness. Each one of these components has a direct affect on your body, which is why they need to be used together. The first component is cardio exercise.

Cardio makes up 20% of your overall weight loss. Cardio alone is not strong enough to cut off those extra pounds. It does, however, complement your effort. Cardio will also give you more energy throughout the day, and will overall lift your spirit and makes you feel good about yourself. Cardio should never be over looked, and should always be included to any workout regimen. The second component is resistance weight training.

Resistance weight training makes up 30% of your overall weight loss success. What's important to understand that the more weight in muscle you build, the more calories in a day your body requires to maintain that muscle. Remember, you don't need to 'bulk up', you simply need to build lean muscle. If you are not actively lifting weights, or performing resistance weight training; your muscles are not lean. You can start off by doing low weight workouts, with higher repetitions. This will engage your muscles to burn calories, and to become leaner. The final component to successful weight loss and the largest by far, you're eating habits.

Healthy food choices comprise of 50% of you're weight loss success. Your body has to account for every calorie that you ingest. This is why your meals make up such a large portion of these the three components mentioned in this article. The average person will burn anywhere from 1500-2000 calories a day. This is called your basal metabolic rate, which is the bare minimum your body requires to survive. This is not including the exercises you perform during the day. In essence, if you eat 2000 calories per day (or what every your basal metabolic rate is), engage in cardio exercise, and resistance weight training. You will be guaranteed to lose weight. It's that simple... Did I mention that there was a fourth component?

The first three components are the building blocks of any healthy lifestyle. But there is something else that you can do to dramatically increase your success. It will help your body to shed off those extra pounds even easier.

Why You Can't Lose Weight: Successful Weight Loss Is Not Always Visible On The Scale

You look anxiously at the scale waiting for the verdict...and the number is the same as last time! Why can't you lose weight?

Don't despair. You problem probably isn't your diet, it's your scale. Not that there is anything wrong with your scale. It's just not telling you the entire story.

Most scales tell you how much weight you lost. Some of the fancy ones will tell you more, including something that you need to know before you give up on successful weight loss. But even if you don't have a super-smart scale you can figure out if you are really losing weight despite what the scale is telling you.

When you commit to healthy weight loss and choose a balanced diet your body will start to change. For most of us, weight gain comes with age and the reason for that is a loss of lean muscle mass.

Lean muscle burns more calories at rest than fat. In other words, if you have more lean muscle mass you will have a higher metabolism and find it easier to maintain your weight. When you begin to eat healthy, balanced meals and exercise you will naturally add some lean muscle.

Muscle, by volume, weighs about twice as much as fat. If you add a pound of muscle to your body it is going to have a different effect on your silhouette than adding a pound of fat.

The solution is simple. Don't only weigh yourself to check your successful weight loss, measure yourself too.

Make a simple chart to track your progress. Note your weight and also key measurements:

Your chest across your nipples
Both arms half way between the arm pit and the elbow
Your stomach at your belly button
Your waist
Your hips
Your thighs right where your fingers reach when you stand straight with your arms at your side

Weigh and measure once a week and you will get a complete picture of what your progress really is versus just weighing yourself.

As a rule of thumb, figure about a pound of fat for each inch you lose. Let's look at a hypothetical weigh in:

You jump on the scale and you weigh 200 pounds, same as last week. You launch into the same disappointing why can't I lose weight pity party you keep having. But this time you measured last week and again this week.

You do the math and find out that you have lost a total of four inches between all the measurements.

Do the Happy Dance because you have lost four pounds of fat! Since the scale is telling you that you haven't lost any weight, that means you have also added four pounds of lean muscle to your body.

This is great news! Probably even better than if the scale showed a weight loss.

You have lost fat, which means you look better and have gotten closer to a healthy BMI, or Body Mass Index.

And you have added lean muscle mass. You look trimmer and now your body's furnace, your metabolism, is running a little higher. You now burn more calories at rest than you did before. That means that your body is doing some of the work toward your successful weight loss.

When I got serious about my weight loss I excitedly shared my results. I shed 35 pounds in six weeks. That's a number that everyone can understand and relate too. But there was more to my story. The scale said 35 pounds, but I actually lost 42 pounds.

I had lost a total of 14 inches, including dropping two pant sizes. Do the math between 35 and 42 and you realize I added 7 pounds of lean muscle. That lean muscle has helped to keep my metabolism revved up and has helped me maintain my weight for years.

Don't lament that you can't lose weight until you have added measuring yourself and you may find you are enjoying successful weight loss after all.

Diet And Weight Loss - 4 Tips Towards Success

A growing epidemic is on the rise, and it's disease is obesity and being overweight. This has lead to a surge in the amount of people that look for all kinds of methods to help them lose weight. This also explains why there have been so many fad diets throughout the recent years. These diets tell people what they want to hear, that they will lose those extra pounds of fat. And that they will do so in a manner that's extremely easy and effective. I hate to break it you but in reality the sellers of these diets are just looking for a quick buck, and these "fad diets" do more harm than good.

It's only natural for a person to want to lose fat quickly, but don't forget that you have to do it in a healthy and successful manner. How many have fallen to these quick weight loss schemes, only to regain all of their lost weight back, and sometimes with the bonus of extra additional weight. However, the dieters that have done so with determination and focus in their approach, not only lose weight in a more efficient and healthy manner, but after they have last that weight they are also more likely to stay at that weight. This may sound difficult to some but it can be done. I will be giving you a few tips in regards to diet and weight loss. These tips will help you to lose weight and make sure that you don't gain the lost weight back!

Diet and Weight Loss Tips

Diet and Weight Loss Tip #1 - Before you start with anything, analyze your situation and set a goal for yourself. Plan how much weight you intend to lose and set a deadline for yourself. Be realistic and don't expect to lose like 40lbs within 1 month. The more weight that you want to lose, the longer your deadline should be. And most importantly be specific when you plan your weight loss goals.

Diet and Weight Loss Tip #2 - You have to understand that you won't be seeing results instantaneously, after all Rome wasn't build overnight! Aim to lose a minimum of 1 lbs a week, up to 5lbs depending on how much you weight. The heavier you are the higher your weight loss should be per week. Be realistic as to what you should expect.

Diet and Weight Loss Tip #3 - Enter the arena well motivated and prepared. Ready yourself mentally and emotionally, this will cause you to handle any potential problems that you might encounter. Get rid of any temptations around you such as Junk Food and your favourite snacks (if they are unhealthy that is). This will cause you to start on the right food and increase your chances of success towards your diets and weight loss success.

Diet and Weight Loss Tip #4 - Ask for support from family and friends. You don't have to lose weight all by yourself. See your doctor, talk to your colleagues and friends about it. They will understand why you refused to join the pizza nights in the office or any similar circumstances. Losing weight together with someone else can be more motivational as well and decrease the chances of giving up.

Successful Weight Loss - Free Report

Successful weight loss is a not only a combination of healthy eating, exercise and willpower, it's about information and knowledge.

Knowledge that some carbohydrates are good for you and some are not; for example, white flour based products like white bread converts to sugar. So, while you may have taken just one tea spoonful of (white) sugar and a little milk (full fat) in your cereal and wonder why you are gaining weight or not losing any, know that that toast that you had with white bread with a healthy dose of butter along with the type of milk, cereal and sugar you chose converted to sugar within you which equals increased fat. However, if you chose brown or whole meal bread for that piece of toast, and low fat milk for your cereal and chose healthy cereals like high fibre low salt and sugar types, you would have better results.

I could not stand wholemeal or brown bread when I was much younger and skinnier, but have realised that it is good for me because it won't turn to fat and really does taste good!

Wholemeal, wholegrain, low fat products are all good for you as they as slow releasing - they fill you up for longer and keep your energy levels up.

Understanding the difference between saturated fat (bad fat) and unsaturated fat ('good' fat) can make all the difference between weight gain and weight loss.

'A high intake of fat of all types, but particularly saturated fat, can increase the amount of cholesterol produced in your liver, and so the amount in your blood.

A high level of cholesterol in your blood is associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease.

What is cholesterol?
Cholesterol is a type of fat that is essential in small amounts for cells in your body (e.g. brain cells). It is only found in foods of animal origin, for example liver, egg yolk and shellfish. Cholesterol is carried around the body in the blood by substances called lipoproteins (for example low density lipoprotein, LDL, and high density lipoprotein, HDL).

The lipoproteins also contain other types of fat. LDL is also called "bad cholesterol" because high levels of LDL in the blood lead to fat accumulating in and narrowing the vessel walls.
HDL is called "good cholesterol" because it retrieves cholesterol from body tissues and helps to transfer it to the liver for disposal.

The major sources of saturated fat in the UK diet include:

• cooking fats and spreads (e.g. butter, margarine, lard),
• fatty meats and meat products, such as red meat and poultry skin,
• full fat milk, cheese and other dairy products,
• chips,
• biscuits, cakes & pastries, and
• sweets and chocolate.'(1)

Therefore, the knowledge that the type of food we eat and not necessarily the quantity of food eaten causes unnecessary weight gain would help in successful weight loss and help prevent the risk of a stroke or coronary.

Try introducing organic products into your diet today for increased health benefits.

One other important thing to note is that your ideal weight is dependent on your sex, age, and height. Understanding your bone structure or body frame is vital to accepting the weight that you should be i.e. a 35 year old female of 5'6" should range in weight from 118lbs to 155lbs this recommendation is based on a Body Mass Index (BMI) range of 19-25. Consequently, a woman who is big boned should not aim for a weight that is more suited to a smaller or medium framed person and vice versa.

Personally, I would say that the risk of heart attack and /or stroke is a great motivator in my weight loss/maintenance program so I am much more conscious of what I eat.

Hypothyroid Treatment and Successful Weight Loss

The thyroid is a small bowtie shaped endocrine gland located below and behind the Adam's apple at the back of the neck. This small unimpressive gland produces the hormones that influence every cell in your body and control body weight and temperature, heart rate, growth, repair, and metabolism. In order to maintain optimal health and fitness your thyroid has to be functioning properly.

When the thyroid isn't functioning properly the result is a thyroid imbalance and a need for hypothyroid treatment. The exact cause of hypothyroidism (low thyroid function) and hyperthyroidism (high or overactive thyroid) is unknown. It is also easy for a thyroid imbalance to go unrecognized. Physicians often disagree as to whether or not a small imbalance can even have an effect on physical and mental health and successful weight loss. It does.

While both men and women suffer from hypothyroidism, it is much more common in women. In the United States it is estimated that more than 500,000 new cases that should be addressed with hypothyroid treatment appear each year.

Doctors use a blood test called a thyroid panel that determines your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level. For many years a serum TSH level of 0.5 to 5 (microunits per milliliter) was considered normal. In 2003 the range was narrowed to 0.3 to 3. Today, many labs have narrowed the range even further. A TSH level of 2.5 is now considered the high end of "normal". Ask your doctor what he considers to be a normal TSH level. To confuse things even further, it is possible to have a TSH level in the normal range, but still have hypothyroid symptoms because your levels of other thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) are low or even low normal.

Hypothyroid Treatment

The most commonly prescribed hypothyroid treatment is a synthetic levothyroxine hormone that supplements or fully replaces your natural supply. Synthroid, Levoxyl, and Levothyroid are three well known brands and are all equally effective. Because there are subtle differences in formulation, which can influence how well they are absorbed, one of them may be better suited for you than the others. Switching back and forth between them is not recommended.

The dosage you receive should start out at a low level and be gradually increased until your TSH level falls within the normal range. Sometimes finding the correct dosage is tricky and can take a while. A second thyroid panel taken after six weeks of hypothyroid treatment will tell if the treatment is working as it should. Once the correct dosage is established side effects are pretty rare. If the dosage is too high there is an increased risk of osteoporosis, heart palpitations and rapid heartbeat.

Some people continue to have symptoms even after the proper dosage of levothyroxine (T4) is established. If you are one of these people your doctor may consider adding some T3 (Cytomel) to your therapeutic regimen. Even though a healthy thyroid produces both T3 and T4 hormones, the thyroid produces only a very small amount of the T3 that your body actually uses. This is because other tissues in your body naturally convert T4 to T3 as needed. This is also why most physicians usually only prescribe T4.

If you prefer a "natural" approach to hypothyroid treatment, Armour Desiccated Thyroid is the best option. It is derived from pork thyroid and is definitely not vegetarian. Armour Thyroid contains both T3 and T4 hormones and is sometimes used in conjunction with the synthetic levothyroxine.

Foods That May Interfere with Hypothyroid Treatment

Some foods, especially when eaten in large quantities, can actually raise your TSH levels or even cause goiters (an enlargement of the thyroid gland). Several of these foods have become very popular as they are thought to have value in fighting off cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, and other serious health problems. If you are undergoing hypothyroid treatment, these foods should only be consumed in moderate amounts and preferably cooked:

Broccoli
Brussels sprouts
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Millet
Mustard greens
Peanuts
Pine nuts
Radishes
Rutabaga
Soybeans
Turnips

Hypothyroid Treatment and Weight Loss

Once you have established an effective hypothyroid treatment plan and are feeling good, you will find it possible to finally lose weight. Perhaps the best way to start is by taking a daily multivitamin that contains both selenium and zinc. Selenium and zinc are essential minerals that help with production of thyroid hormones. Next you might consider trying a body cleansing and detox routine. Detoxification is a way to help your body heal itself and get ready for a safe and sensible weight loss program of your own choosing. Look for a two phase program that has a quick weight loss routine as well as a focus on healthy living and long term weight loss.

Weight Loss Success - Understanding Your Eating Habits

If you have a hard time adhering to a weight loss program, or find that you 'blow it' two or three days out of the week, then you will want to read this article. Specifically we will focus on how to identify and understand what drives you to 'blow it', and three suggestions to help establish healthy eating habits.

Identify

To aid in identification of problem areas start a journal. This journal is not your typical look-at-what-you-eat list, but rather a way to aid you on your journey towards successful weight loss.

The journal will be used for two weeks. Two weeks is not an excessive amount of time to spend on something that will aid you for a lifetime. Follow these steps to get your journal started:

Get a cheap notebook to use; avoid writing on loose papers that can be misplaced.
Start a new page for each day.
Create two columns on each page
Food: Write down everything you eat on that day
How I felt today: Was this a good day or a bad day? Write down if you were happy and energetic, depressed, sad, or angry. And why. (Argument with significant other or boss, got flowers, good review at work, or just plain 'I don't know').

Write in your journal daily for two weeks. Be honest; nobody is going to see this but you and it can be thrown away or burned when you are finished with it.

Understanding

After you have completed the two-week 'ordeal' it is time to examine your journal and find a pattern to your eating habits.

First, highlight the days that you over-ate, or ate the wrong foods. Now, highlight the corresponding 'how I felt today' entry.

I would be willing to bet there is a connection between over-eating, or eating the wrong foods, and you having a less than optimum day. You can drill farther and see if any particular set of events causes you to feel out-of-sorts.

You are now armed with extremely important information that is in black and white, written by your own hand.

Suggestions

'Blowing it' is actually a dieters dream! This gives you the perfect opportunity to feel miserable and think 'Well, I blew it at lunch, so I might as well gorge myself tonight too- and include a huge desert'. STOP that thinking!

Every dieter will occasionally over-eat, or eat the wrong foods. It is not the end of the world, it is normal and in no way makes you worthless or unworthy. Instead of choosing to feel that you need self-castigation, focus on the accomplishments that you have made.

Have you lost 5lbs or 10lbs since you started your weight loss program, or perhaps you had to buy new pants in a smaller size? Congratulate yourself! You are doing a fantastic job. You over-ate at lunch, but you can easily get back on track at dinner. No big deal.

Plan for the times that you know will encourage you to over-eat, or eat the wrong foods. For instance, if you go to lunch with your friends once a week, and can't get past ordering that cheesecake, then plan for it. Have it in your mind that once a week you will have a guiltless lunch. Planning for it will eliminate the misery of 'I blew it'
As soon as you start to feel sad, depressed or angry, pause and take a breath. Think about why you are feeling this way. (Haven't you found that after this 'dark' period goes away that the situation really wasn't all that bad, or that it was even humorous?) Put your mind in the future and try to decide if it will be funny tomorrow, or just plain inconsequential. The act of focusing your attention on a different subject will often have the effect of removing the impending bad mood.

You can probably think of several other ways to avoid having a 'bad day'. Putting these suggestions into place will eliminate many of your bad days, and you will find that your life is much happier. This in turn will create a desire to devise other methods of eliminating even more of the ugly days!

Being a happy, calm person will make achieving successful weight loss so much easier for you. You are now armed with the knowledge of why you 'blow-it' and you have some suggestions on how to fix it. Remember, knowledge is power.

You have my blessings, support and best wishes on your journey to a new you!

The Right Mindset Is One of the Keys To Successful Weight Loss Programs

There are tons of weight loss programs and diet regimens that claim to offer quick and reliable solutions to losing weight. However, no matter what the program is, a regimen that involves losing weight should also include the right mindset since every success story is surely backed by the right attitude, perseverance and perspective.

Strengthen Your Commitment and Be Motivated

Losing weight does not happen overnight. It usually takes months of consistent diet, exercise and other helpful methods. But for you to be able to achieve your desired body weight, you must first make sure that you have the right reasons in doing so. Having these reasons will make you more driven and committed to the cause of slimming down. For example, if you have an upcoming vacation at the beach where you need to flaunt your body then you may become more motivated to go on a diet. Similarly, most women who are part of an upcoming bridal entourage are easily motivated to lose weight fast because they need to fit themselves in those form-fitting gowns.

Unfortunately, it's very easy to be led astray with all the tempting food around you. This is why you need to find your inner drive and stay on track. Commitment also includes focus that does not only deal with physical strength but also mental strength. Consider addressing all those unhealthy relationships, financial problems and other stresses first before going into the intensive program of losing weight. After which, set a date and proceed with your plan. You can also ask somebody else, maybe a close friend or family member to witness your progress. Pick those who can encourage you to continue with the plan and more importantly, find someone who is willing to hear you out, share priorities and even become your exercise buddy. In the same sense, support groups usually offer strong accountability and help keep your motivation in check.

Setting Smart Process and Outcome Goals

Setting goals that are realistic and achievable is best for any program that involves losing weight. Losing half to a kilo per week for the first months of your regimen is a smart goal since the initial weight reductions involve lots of water loss and therefore very achievable. As time goes on, the amount of weight lost begins to decline. Hence, you cannot set a goal of losing 5 kilo every month for 6 straight months because it is usually unrealistic for most individuals. To add, losing a kilo per week requires you to burn about 1,000 calories beyond your normal calorie consumption per day.

You should also set goals that change some processes. For example, setting an outcome goal of going down to 50 kilos after 3 months should also include the process goal of dedicating at least 30 minutes of your time a day (5 days / week) for exercises. Furthermore, outcome goals should encompass smaller process goals of eating healthier foods regularly. Having a balanced diet that is less fat, more lean protein sources and a perfect mix of fruits and veggies will also help hasten the weight loss process. Taking small frequent meal portions rather than two big meals a day and not skipping breakfast are other examples of smart process goals.

Know why having the right mindset and perspective to weight loss helps ensure success of the program. Strengthen your commitment, keep motivated and set smart goals.

Weight Loss Tips To Help You Find Success

Weight loss is no easy feat. It takes hard work and determination and the whole process can be quite overwhelming. The concept is actually quite simple and you can do it if you choose to put in the work that it takes. The following article contains some tips you can use to help you find success on your weight loss journey.

First of all, sit down and make goals for your weight loss. Research shows that those who make goals and write them down are more likely to reach them. Think of all that you would like to accomplish. How many pounds do you want to lose? What kinds of foods do you want to eat? What habits would you like to break? Think about all the changes you want to make and write them down. Now break these goals down into smaller, short-term goals. Make sure they are do-able. If you set goals for yourself that are impossible, you will get overwhelmed or frustrated and end giving up altogether.

One thing you need in order to lose weight is a healthy diet that is low in calories. Instead of eating refined sugars and simple carbohydrates, choose complex carbohydrates like fresh fruit and whole grain items. Do not eat fatty meats or those that are fried. Eat grilled or baked, lean meats that are simply lightly seasoned. Vegetables are important, too. Eat plenty of them either fresh or steamed. Also, choose low-fat dairy options instead of the full fat choices. Another good choice is to stay away from processed foods. Most of these are full of items that your body simply does not need.

Exercise is another part of weight loss. Exercise should take place most days of the week and will help you burn calories and get off the excess weight. When it comes to exercise there are two types and you need to take part in both of these exercise types.

The first type of exercise is cardiovascular exercise. This type of exercise raises the heart rate, strengthens your heart and lungs, releases feel good hormones and burns calories. Any exercise that raises your heart rate and keeps it there is considered cardio exercise and you should do this kind of exercise for about half an hour or more most days of the week. There are many options for cardio. You can walk, run, dance, bike or take an exercise class. Make sure you enjoy it your exercise routine, that way you will be more likely to stick with it.

The other type of exercise is strength training. Strength training helps build your muscle mass. Even if you do not want big muscles, you still need to take part in strength training. Every thing you do in life uses muscles and it is important that you are strong enough to get through your day. There are many options for strength training. You can use weights, machines, resistance bands or your own body weight. Try to take part in strength training at least a few days a week.

Losing weight is a simple concept, but it is not an easy process. Use the tips shared in this article to help make your weight loss journey successful.

5 Simple Secrets to Successful Weight Loss

There are many materials on weight loss online which are of great benefits, but some of the information is not of much value to overweight people. Many of the books on weight loss are misleading. In this article, I am going to give you the best advice and tips you may get to help and guide you through your weight loss program.

1. Little Food
The first step to weight loss is to reduce the quantity of food you eat at a particular time. You do not have to starve yourself because you want to lose weight. You may eat up to five times in a day, but it must be moderate. So to lose weight quickly, consume less.

2. Avoid Junks
For successful weight loss, avoid junk snacks and foods that contain a lot of sugar. You can take nuts, sunflower seeds and cheese. Before you take a meal, eat raw celery or cabbage to prevent overeating.

3. The Diet
Good diet plays a vital role in rapid weight loss and must be followed strictly. A high protein breakfast is a must. If you must take beverages, take tea or decaffeinated coffee to avoid weight gain. Or, if you desire sweet tea, add honey instead of sugar. In addition, you may include club soda, dry ginger ale and other distilled liquors in moderate quantity.

4. Exercise
You must be active to lose weight and stay young. One way to achieve this is to include some types of exercise in your daily activities. The body needs exercise to keep its motor running in order to burn accumulated fat. Exercise is also a wonderful way to keep a good figure. The simplest way to keep fit is to get out of your seats. It could be walking or jogging, riding a bicycle, swimming and many others.

5. Wrong sequence of eating
A hot thin soup at the beginning of a meal stimulates the appetite. A salad served first fills you up with nutritious food and reduces the appetite. Even eating the right meal at the wrong time can make you add weight. Let me share my personal experience with you.

''I come from a family in which every member is slim. We used to take light breakfast as we were growing up and had our main meal at noon. We took light supper in the evening. We ate little starch or sweet. So did not gain abnormal weight.

My first job was in an institution where the main meal was at night and the diet was full of starch and sweet. I put on weight alarmingly. When i returned home and ate once more as my family did, my weight returned to normal. Therefore for successful weight loss, i suggest that you eat your main meal at noon to streamline your weight in due time.

Successful Weight Loss - One Meal At A Time

To achieve successful weight loss, it is important to not look too hard at the big picture, but instead consider a number of small challenges.

When Neil Armstrong returned from the lunar landing, he was asked; how could such a major undertaking be achieved. His reply was; it was just a matter of solving a whole series of small problems.

You may wish to lose 10, 20 or 30 kg or more. But the fact is it is what you eat at your next meal is what will decide your future success. Your weight loss is a question of solving a series of eating challenges.

It is fine to visualise achieving your ideal weight, and what clothes you will wear, this can help you to keep on track, but for your sanity it's best to largely forget the big picture, and instead focus on the near future.

The near future may be your next meal or snack. Focus o eating the right foods one meal at a time and you will be successful. By focus, you only need to casually think about making healthy food choices for that meal.

It is important that you don't become obsessed with the food on your plate or the lack there of.

The best way to do this without driving yourself nuts is to use ideal weight hypnosis. By addressing the desires in the subconscious it will be much easier for you to make consistently healthy food choices.

The feeling when dieting is often one of deprivation, taking away certain foods is much more than a casual removal of dietary choices. It is taking away emotional connections to some foods.

Some of these connections go deep into your past, perhaps as far back as childhood. Connections of reward and comfort are very powerful. Removing these foods can then be quite an emotional upheaval.

Some foods however didn't even exist when some of you were children, especially some of the global fast food giants. Yet they have become a mainstay of the modern diet.

If you can't resist driving past one of these outlets without stopping to eat, or at least it makes you hungry and you have to resist your temptation then you may want to stop and consider what that means.

What does this food mean to you and why are you so tempted. What need is meet by this food and how do you feel as you eat it. Using hypnosis will make it so much easier for you to release the need and succeed one meal at a time.

Successful Weight Loss - Even If You Work In A Restaurant

Losing weight can be enough of a challenge at the best of times, but how does someone who works in a restaurant where they are surrounded by food, manage to stay on track?

In an average restaurant there are tempting breads and courses made with rich sauces and of course desserts.

Most restaurant kitchen workers, work long hours in often hot difficult time pressured conditions. At the end of a shift, which is usually late in the evening, they are most likely to be very hungry, and the opportunity presents itself to over eat the wrong foods.

Years ago when I worked the bar in a restaurant at midnight or there about the chief would occasionally make us all giant ice cream and strawberry pancakes, with fresh strawberry sauce. It was amazing, but the worst possible food before heading home to collapse after a long shift.

To work in this industry and lose weight or even maintain your weight you will need some specific strategies.

1. Try and create a normal life even if you wake up at 9 or 10am.

2. Have a healthy breakfast of oats or eggs.

3. Find time to exercise daily. Go to the gym, power walk etc.

4. Have a nutritious lunch in the mid afternoon. Make this your most substantial meal of the day. This meal may need to last you for hours, depending on how your shift works.

5. If possible during the busy evening serving and cooking period graze on apples, to keep your blood sugar up to healthy levels.

6. At the end of the evening, eat less than you think you need. Remember it's the equivalent of a late night snack.

Losing weight while working in a food environment is a combination of creating workable strategies, and overcoming beliefs and resistance.

e.g. it's boring to eat salads at the end of work when the other staff are eating pizza's or rich food. I need a big meal after work because I haven't eaten for hours and I just want a normal life.

The reality is that what is considered a normal life of working nine to five is now days more of a rarity than the normal. Most people have different work hours, so if you want to lose weight you need to create your own routine, forget what may seem to be normal and just care for yourself.

Ideal weight hypnosis is an effective way to release your beliefs and overcome resistance about those things which will hold you back from achieving your goals.

3 Questions to Ask Yourself for Successful Weight Loss

Many people say that they are not happy with the way they look and that they would like to get into a good weight loss program. They try out different slimming products, spending good money without seeing any results. These programs and other products like diet pills, slimming creams, and meal replacement shakes are not what makes or breaks a person's chances of achieving his weight goals. These products are designed and formulated to help people shed excess weight and keep fit, but they cannot completely guarantee results. What ultimately determines whether you lose weight or not is your attitude and commitment towards shifting to a healthier lifestyle.

Ask yourself the following questions and do some introspection to get yourself ready to work towards your weight loss goals and to commit to keeping added weight off:

1. What is my eating style? Much of the excess weight that you are carrying has to do with the way that you eat. Most people suffer from weight problems because of their own doing rather than because of some uncontrollable factors. When you understand the way that you eat, you can consciously make changes in your diet that could ultimately lead to shedding your excess weight.

If you are mostly out during the day and have to eat on-the-go, you can forego your daily fast food meals and pack a healthy sandwich. It does not take much time to find a bench at a park and settle for a few minutes to eat your sandwich before you head on back to work.

2. What is my fitness level and personality? Not everyone is born to run a marathon or even to simply ride a bike. You have to examine yourself and find out what kinds of fitness activities will suit you best. If you crave for socialization, it would be a good idea to find an exercise partner you can work out with at the local gym. Or, you can join your neighborhood jogger's club to get some physical exercise program going.

On the other hand, if you want your efforts to keep fit to be kept private, a home exercise program would be perfect for you. Try putting together a program that combines mind and body conditioning with aerobic exercises and yoga exercises done on alternating days. Remember to start with exercises and physical activity that you are capable of doing, pushing yourself a little but not straining your body to the point of injury.

3. How committed am I to my weight loss goals? Just how much do you want to succeed in your fitness goals? What you want to happen might not necessarily be met with an equal amount of commitment to make it happen. You have to be committed to taking real steps in order to get to your desired weight and shape.

It is easy to say that you want to lose weight only to buckle down with every possible reason not to go on a healthy diet or to stray from an activity that helps you keep fit. The first challenge that you have to hurdle to succeed in your battle against excess weight is shifting your attitude and mindset towards adopting healthy eating and living practices.

Determination Is the Key to Successful Weight Loss

Have you tried countless ways to lose weight but none of them seems to work? Well, you're not the only one who suffers from such. A lot of people engage in different diet fads but they keep on gaining back the weight they lost. If you want to get out of this cycle, it's time for you to change the way you see things.

Remember that no matter how much money you spend for diet pills and whatnots, the only thing that will ultimately lead to successful weight loss is determination. Here are 10 tips to self motivation for successful weight loss.

1. Before and after pictures - Sometimes, turning your goals into tangible things can do wonders. Post your current picture alongside the picture of a figure that you want to become. Seeing your goal often will help you boost your determination.

2. Create a timeline - A plan in itself is a good way to start. However, a lot of people fail to carry out their plans because they fail to observe a timeline. Setting a timeline helps tighten discipline and can lead to successful weight loss.

3. Join support groups - Some people falter in their resolve because they think that they are alone. By joining support groups, you will be able to find other people who are going through the same process. Moreover, these support groups can provide you with further tips on achieving weight loss.

4. Talk to people about it - Sometimes, just venting out helps. Remember that you need not be alone in your journey. Talk to people about your goals and you will be surprised to see how that would make it much easier for you to stay determined.

5. Read books - It is true that some people are too shy to talk about their feelings to others. This can be addressed by reading self-help books and other instructional materials. Books can serve as your guide to successful weight loss.

6. Have a partner - Having company is always better than being alone. Try to find someone who will support you all the way. A partner will be very helpful in times when your determination is failing you. Just make sure that you have the right weight loss buddy and you're sure to achieve your goal.

7. One step at a time - The journey to weight loss can sometimes be frustrating. The reason is because some people set unrealistic goals which surely lead to failure. Because of this, some people just opt to stop. Take it one step at a time and be patient.

8. Reward yourself - This is very important in maintaining determination. Rewarding yourself can easily condition your mind that you are doing a good job. Just make sure that you reward yourself with non-food prizes, otherwise your merit system would not help you lose weight.

9. Have affirmations - Make sure that you always appreciate your works. By simply telling yourself that you are beautiful already helps you become more determined to make things work for you.

10. Believe in yourself - Remember that your journey will depend on no one but yourself. Start right by believing that you can achieve weight loss by working hard for it!
