Kettlebell workouts are the most refreshing way to build strength and burn fat

By Chris Rivers

A Kettle bell is a iron weight which looks like a cannonball with a handle weighing between 5lbs to over 100lbs. These devices originated from Russia and have been in use in the western world over the last few years. This type of training is not a new one as it began in ancient Greece . Kettlebell workout routines are unique because they offer different type of exercises with dynamic moves targeting different fitness aspects. Kettlebell training focuses on flexibility, strength, agility, balance, endurance and cardiovascular exercises. Various individuals prefer using them because these exercises require only one equipment and is quite challenging and efficient.

While performing strength training exercises, it will also help you boost the capacity of your lungs and heart. You can perform high rep sets of kettlebell swings, jerks, clean and snatches, and these exercises can surely make you sweat in just a couple of minutes. Since these workouts are helpful in improving your cardio strength, it will also help you burn unnecessary calories in your body. Instead of spending a couple of months engaging in an exercise program for weight loss and muscle building, you can do KB exercises instead to hit two birds with a single stone.

This training involves you holding the Kettlebell in both hands and does different swings presses and pulling motions. Some of these exercises are swings, Turkish get ups, figure 8, kettlebell high pull, overhead cross, one Arm Swing, snatch to name a few.

Some exercises need power from both your hips & legs to lift the weight thus giving your entire body an integrated movement which is missing in other forms of training, hence make it capable to shed off some fat. Although the kettlebell workouts might resemble the dumbbell in various aspects, they are completely different in shape. The U shaped arms/handles change the effect of the weight in your body in more than one way. When using a dumbbell your center-of-gravity is usually within the hand so it cannot be altered in anyway while with Kettlebell training your center-of-gravity changes with the movement or swing. These movements create a centrifugal force which focuses more on the muscle doing the movement just like in the real life movement.

Surprisingly and unlike other fitness programmes kettle bell training is very moreish, this is mainly due to the fact that the workouts don't take forever to complete, are a personal challenge to you and can be done every ware and anywhere imaginable. Because of their unique size and exercises you are not limited to just training at home or in the gym; if the sun is shining get out there into the fresh air and swing your kettle bell, you'll be amazed at how refreshing and therapeutic it really can be.

Also it's inexpensive. You can buy the equipment for as low as $30 and train every with it and thats a big saving on hefty gym memberships.
